Automatically isolate images

For the development of a professional online shop, it is essential to detach the product photos from their respective background through a process of separation. This is the only way to make the best possible use of the images: the product can be placed on a virtual shelf, examined and rotated. This offers the customer the best possible online shopping experience.

By creating different lighting situations with light from different directions and the possibility to use different backgrounds, the IMS 360 is able to combine the raw images created during the capture process by so-called “LightFusion” to create the ideal lighting conditions.

The increase in efficiency is significant: in one and the same step, the item master data and also the product photos are generated. At the same time, the effort for post-processing the photos is minimized: The image is automatically cropped, exposed and centered according to the article dimensions.
